Georgia O'Keefe Flower Paintings

Students in Kindergarten are learning about the artist Georgia O'Keefe. She is one of the first women to become a famous American painter. She liked to paint flowers and she painted them really big. She would often paint just a single flower on giant canvas. She wanted people to see the beauty in the details of the flower. Kids in Kindergarten are thinking big and creating their own large flower paintings. They are also creating clay flower tiles. We read the book below as part of our lesson.
