Squirrels from Local Clay

Sometimes when there is road or home construction near our school I will bring some of the clay to school and have the kids process it. Squirrels are a local animal that my students see all the time in their backyards. Since we were working with local clay, I thought it would be great to have the kids create animals that are from our locale. Kids created squirrels and rabbits, though only the squirrels are pictured here.
