Kindergarten Owls

I read a book to my kindergarten students that is called Owl Babies. In there is a little frightened owl named Billy who the kids really like.

This is another one of our flat slab kindergarten clay projects. The kids flatten a slab with their hands and fold over the top to make the head. Then they add spheres for eyes, and a cone for the nose. They draw two curved lines for wings and use the back of a popsicle stick to make textured belly feathers. If kindergarteners had more than a half an hour in art class, they could add more details, but this is about as much they can get done.
