Glossy Base 1 Grid

The fluxes for corner C of this grid come from a glaze called Glossy Base 1 which is found in John Hesselberth's and Ron Roy's book "Mastering Cone 6 Glazes".

You can see all of the recipes for this grid here. If you scroll down you can see how some of the glazes from this grid look on vertical test tiles and a few bowls.

Glaze #17 from this grid is the recipe that gave the best results for me. I tested glaze number 17 with 9 different colorants and many of these look like promising glazes.

This grid contains the same glazes as the grid above. The only difference is the color of the clay body.

I did some line blends with 9 different colorants which yielded 45 color variations of glaze number 17 from the above grids.

After I fire a grid glaze, I look at the glazes and decide which ones would be interesting to see on a vertical surface. These tiles are glazes 6, 7, 8 and 9 from the grids above.

Glazes 11, 12, 13, 14.

Glazes 16, 17 and 18.

This is glaze number 17 from the grid. I didn't expect this glaze to break so nicley over edges.

This is glaze number 13 from the grid. It is less variegated than glaze number 17 and doesn't break as much on the edges.
