Glossy Base 1 Grid

The fluxes for corner C of this grid come from a glaze called Glossy Base 1 which is found in John Hesselberth's and Ron Roy's book "Mastering Cone 6 Glazes".
Glaze #17 from this grid is the recipe that gave the best results for me. I tested glaze number 17 with 9 different colorants and many of these look like promising glazes. |

This grid contains the same glazes as the grid above. The only difference is the color of the clay body.

I did some line blends with 9 different colorants which yielded 45 color variations of glaze number 17 from the above grids.

After I fire a grid glaze, I look at the glazes and decide which ones would be interesting to see on a vertical surface. These tiles are glazes 6, 7, 8 and 9 from the grids above. |

This is glaze number 17 from the grid. I didn't expect this glaze to break so nicley over edges. |

This is glaze number 13 from the grid. It is less variegated than glaze number 17 and doesn't break as much on the edges.
